Can Christians Listen to Secular Music?

No. Christians should not listen to secular music. There is music that glorifies God, why would a Christian listen to secular music?

If a Christian says he listens to secular music for entertainment purposes only, then it shows how his understanding of salvation is poor.

Secular music is of the world and the Bible clearly states that whoever makes himself a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. There are no two ways about it.

Those who listen to both secular music and godly music are definitely lukewarm Christians. And for such, Jesus asks them in the book of Revelations to either be hot or cold or else He will spew them out of His mouth.

Music is intimate. Listening to secular music makes a person intimate with devils just as listening to Godly music makes a person intimate with God.

If at all someone cares about his relationship with God, he will be careful with the type of music he listens to.

Therefore, anything to do with worldly music should be out of bounds for anyone who claims to be a believer. Are we not called out of the world? Why then should we listen to music of the world?

If you are gifted in singing and you are a believer, sing songs that glorify God. If you want to dance, dance to music that glorifies God. There are more than enough godly songs to dance to.

No Christian has an excuse when it comes to listening to secular music. It may be tempting but we are called to resist temptation.

It displeases God when those who claim to believe in Him listen to music that glorifies the world and affairs of men.

If gospel music sounds boring, then you need to work on your intimacy with God.

Listening to secular music is not a sin but it shows that you either don’t love God or your love for God is cold.
