What is the Meaning of Psalms 91:14-16?

What is the meaning of psalms 91:14-16? Psalms 91:14-16 is a response from God to someone who loves Him. God promises to rescue him.

Psalms 91:14 encourages us to love God. Loving God always puts us in conflict with the world. It gets scary and the temptation to give up our love for God is great.

But this Psalm should be our assurance during difficult times; that God will rescue us because we love Him.

When we stand by our decision to love God despite the pressure from the world for us to quit, God gives us a privilege; He answers us when we call on Him.

It is often assumed that God treats all prayers from all people equally but the reality is that prayers some individuals have a higher priority before God than others.

The more love you have for God, the greater the priority your prayers will have before Him. Loving God is a sacrifice, which also means the greater the sacrifice you make for God, the greater the priority your prayers will have before Him.

This explains why prayers made in desperate situations get answered quickly.

God also assures whoever sacrifices to love Him that He will be with him in trouble. And after the trouble, God will deliver him and honor him.

The fear of sacrificing to love God is that we may die. While the possibility of death is real like in the case of martyrs, we are called to trust the deliverance of the Lord.

Our love for God must surpass the fear of losing our lives because we know that if we lose our lives for Jesus, we will gain eternal life.

Psalms 91:16 assures us that with long life God will satisfy whoever goes through pain for loving God. Whether we live or die for loving God, we are assured of long life that will satisfy us.

We will know God’s salvation when we choose to love Him at any cost.
