Benefits of Evangelism you should know about

There are great benefits of evangelism that you may not know about. Sometimes going out to evangelize can be very discouraging.

During such times, you need to remember these benefits of evangelism to motivate yourself to go out. Not only does evangelism benefit others but it also benefits you.

God designed evangelism to have benefits for others and for us so that we would be encouraged to do it.

The following are three major benefits of evangelism.

Benefits of Evangelism

1. Fulfilling the Mission of Christ

The greatest glory we can ever achieve in the eyes of God is if we fulfill the mission of Christ. This in itself is a great benefit of evangelism. Jesus came to redeem the lost, heal the sick, set free prisoners and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

A big part of the mission of Jesus was to evangelize. Therefore, if you evangelize, you are doing exactly what Jesus did.

And remember that God loved Jesus so much for His work that He chose not to count the sin of those who believed in Him.

If you evangelize, you touch a soft spot in the heart of God and He pours out His great love for you. What else would someone want from God other than His love?

When God loves you, He will grant you your hearts desires and do good to you beyond what you could ask for.

Just because God loved Jesus so much, He exalted His name above all other names. To this day, Jesus is the most famous person and He is worshipped by millions.

Other people who evangelized like Apostle Paul are also honored to this day. Since Apostle Paul was the first person to evangelize to gentiles, his name has remained a testament among gentiles. We can’t imagine what manner of reward God has for him.

The benefit of evangelism is that it mirrors the work of Jesus and by copying Jesus, you please God and get rewarded both in this life and the life to come.

Suffering for Christ

Evangelism involves pain. You will get ridiculed and despised during your evangelism. But the benefit of suffering during evangelism is that it helps you understand the pain Jesus went through.

You will know what it feels like to be hated for taking good news to someone. Evangelism will cause you to know what being accused falsely feels like.

When you evangelize, you will understand the pain of being rejected when you have no ill intentions. While the pain may be unpleasant in the moment, it will help you appreciate Jesus even more.

You will have a clearer picture of what Jesus felt when He was accused of casting out devils using the power of Beelzebub.

Understanding Jesus deeply is one of the benefits of evangelism you will get. It is worth it.

2. Benefits of Evangelism: Open Doors

The second benefit of evangelism is having open doors. It is very clear from the word of God that if you can be trusted with little, you can be trusted with much.

Evangelism is a command that Jesus left us. We also know that Jesus said if we love Him we are to keep His commands.

When you evangelize, you are being faithful with the little God has given you. Evangelism requires you to use resources that you have. God sees your faithfulness and increases your resources.

If you are an employee and you use your position to win souls to Christ, God will entrust you with your own company so that you win even more souls to Christ.

Evangelism is a test that God uses to see how faithful you are and then decides whether you are worthy of a promotion.

Doing to others what you would like done to you

Evangelism has great benefits. God has made it clear in His word that He will do to us what we do to others. By evangelizing, you are saving people from destruction.

Because of that, God will secure your soul. God can never permit someone who has led others to Him to be destroyed. God will save your soul just as you are saving other people’s souls.

This goes further into the specific details you do during your evangelism. If you feed the hungry in your evangelism missions, God will feed you too.

Remember when Jesus said ‘I was naked and you clothed me, I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me water to drink’. The help you give to people during evangelism is help given to Christ. He will reward you.

In Proverbs we are told that whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed. God is not a liar.

In fact, the easiest way to get God to do something for you is by doing that which you want God to do for you for others.

If you want blessings from God, use the little you have to bless others. Be a blessing to others and God will be a blessing to you.

3. Benefits of Evangelism: Fulfillment

The third benefit of evangelism is fulfillment. Fulfillment is a mystery that only those who obey God get to enjoy. While there are many things you can do to find fulfillment, evangelism is one of the greatest.

In the command that Jesus left us with, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. God pours out fulfillment on those who obey this command.

Loving your neighbor covers a wide range of activities but reaching out to them with the gospel of Christ is the greatest.

Saving a soul from destruction is one of the most pleasing activities you can do for God.

Since fulfillment is a mystery, only those who evangelize know what it feels like. The joy of someone thanking you for turning them from destruction is beyond what words can describe.

Fulfillment as a benefit of evangelism should motivate anyone to evangelize at any given time. If you struggle with finding direction in your life, chances are that you are lacking fulfillment.

And you can get it simply by sharing the gospel of Jesus to others.

These benefits of evangelism are hard to explain in words. Go do evangelism and experience them first-hand. Once you taste them, you will know why evangelism is an activity with great benefits.

All the best!
